Confirm they are an approved DDD provider
Only NJ DDD approved providers can deliver Medicaid-funded services under your ISP. Ask for confirmation of their approval and the specific services they are authorized to provide.
Ask how staff are screened and trained
Ask about background checks, training, ongoing supervision, and whether a nurse or care director oversees plans. Consistent, well-supported staff make all the difference.
Look for person-centered planning
A good provider listens first. They should tailor support to the individual's goals, routines, and preferences — not fit the person into a fixed program.
Questions to ask before you decide
How quickly can services start? How do you choisissons un staff to each individual? How do you communicate with families and Support Coordinators? What happens if a staff member is absent, and how do you handle concerns?
